For the life of me, I've never had the best of luck as an herb farmer
I have a feeling that's about to change
How cool are these?
Wine bottles cut just so, with wicks for watering. A bit of soil to fill and heirloom sweet basil seeds for planting
All you need is a sunny spot, and in no time you'll have fresh basil!
Now when your dish calls for some, there's no need to add it to your grocery list. Instead, give your plant the slightest of haircuts and away you go.
Since she cuts her own bottles, and I bet if you asked nicely, she just might try her hand at one of yours
As far as growing seeds, any will work
I have few chili plants germinating in mine, a gift from a friend with the disclaimer, “Now, be patient, it could take six months or so for them to get going.”
I think I'm going to add a few more to windowsills throughout my house and remember them for fun foodie gift ideas.
