Have a Wonderful Week

July 3, 2017

“Isn't it amazing how much stuff we get done the day before vacation?”   ~ Zig Zigler

I'm writing this with a packed suitcase by the front door, ready for a mini road trip

Tomorrow after dropping the puppies off for their afternoon playdate, I'm heading to downtown Minneapolis for a bit of R&R.  With a big paper due for my latest class, along with some writing commitments for The Veggies, I'm in need of some large chunks of quiet, along with a break from life's everydays.

An entrepreneur smoothie of sorts.  The beautiful concoction of blending work commitments with the opportunity for some time away.  Surely you've seen the drill.

If you know my husband and me, you'll know we're not the best about taking vacations for ourselves.  It's a small trade-off for the work (and life) we love.  So until we can be trusted to take a proper intentional vacation, we’ll continue to mold working get-aways into excuses to explore someplace new  (i.e., work from a different zip code)

Still, I plan to catch up on some reading, take walks in the sunshine, practice lots of yoga, visit a day spa, and discover new places to coffee shop sit

Here at The Veggies this week, I'll be featuring some of my favorite recipes and stories, for those who maybe haven't ventured through the archives

I hope you have a good one!

xoxo

Enjoy your road trip! Sometimes, life can be too busy we forget to unwind. We all deserve a break from time to time.

Hope you have a well deserved break. I actually love the day before we go away as it’s when I finally get *all* the jobs done!

All work and no play makes for difficult writing. Enjoy your get aways or mini vacations. Kill two birds with one stone and do some yoga in the sunshine.

Enjoy the break! I’ve seen so much of the UK by combining work with travel opportunities. Enjoy leaving the zip code! x

I would love to visit a day spa. I have only gotten my toe nails done once this year so I don’t feel like I’m having enough “me” time.

Hope you enjoy your mini road trip. I’m also excited for our next vacation with my husband. Do you do yoga by yourself or attend a class? It’s a nice workout that can totally be relaxing and strengthening at the same time. I have to be back at it soon.

Awww! i hope you have an amazing time on your mini vacation. I can understand it being hard to get away from what you are doing. Trying to get this blog to make a second income I have had to deal with all kinds of sacrifices of time. I am not sure I would be stepping away from it completely in any sense of the word. Although I do feel it’s important to do so. Somehow our lives really have to have some sort of a balance. And we do what we have to do in order to find it.

I went through your profile on Instagram. The pictures were extremely amazing. The recipes and the food, inspired me a lot to cook this weekend. And I think nothing can be better then, cooking on weekend. It is good to always take a break. Enjoy your time in Minneapolis!

Let us know which coffee shops and new places you discover. Right now I’m interested to visit coffee places not only for their drinks but also for the ambiance. The ones with the nice vibe can set a good focus at work.

We love going on a road trip it relaxes mind and body. Which we all need to to enjoy this busy and tough life. Any places will do as long as you were with someone you love hanging out with. Keeping on your strict diet while traveling can be effective I love how you manage it.
