I love wineries in the summertime
It makes me happy to sit on the grass, listen to music, and let the afternoon pass by
This past weekend we made our first visit, and it didn't disappoint sunshiny, border-line hot, good music, and great company
What more could one ask for?
“Hummmm .. what's that over yonder? Pizza? Really? They added an outdoor pizza oven.”
How cool is that?!
So as we headed out, our path may have taken just the slightest of detours, and we ended up in front of the menu. A simple chalkboard with three or four different varieties listed, but at the bottom
Last, but certainly not least, it caught my eye – Peaches, Goat Cheese, and Honey
The name alone had summer written all over it, a cool combination of colors, not to mention flavors. Out came my handy notebook
I turned to my husband and said, “Think we can re-create it at home?”
He smiled
So tonight we did, and believe me, it didn't disappoint.
Made on my favorite artisan pizza crust, blueberries added for good measure; honey drizzled on the top while it was still warm out of the oven
Yep
This one we'll be doing again
Enjoy!

ps: Typically, when it's just the two of us, we make mini pizzas on whole wheat Naan. It's a perfect size, comes in many varieties, has held up well to the toppings we've thrown at it to date, and has surprisingly good nutritional stats
I couldn't help but wonder about different kinds of cheeses. Brie comes to mind, and I'm sure there are others. It'll be fun to play with different fruit/cheese combos.
