The Beautifully Bold Coffee Smoothie

Ingredients
  • 1 banana, preferably frozen
  • 2 Medjool dates pitted
  • ½ cup cold-brew coffee (** Note: Brewed coffee that has been chilled is also great)
  • ½ - 1 scoop protein powder of your choice, optional (** My favorite is Food Coach NYC's Beauti-fuel)
  • ¼ cup raw cashews, preferably soaked overnight
  • 3 Tbsp old-fashioned oats, preferably soaked overnight
  • 1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Pinch of ground cardamom
  • Pinch fine-grain sea salt
  • ½ cup ice + more depending upon the consistency you prefer
Instructions
  1. Using your blender's smoothie or ice crush setting .. purée the banana, dates, coffee, cashews, protein powder, oats, cocoa powder, cardamom, sea salt, and ice in a blender until smooth
