And there it was, the first birds of the season, singing. I can't think of a better way to have started this week, of unseasonably beautiful weather in Iowa. Truly they've been days to savor
It felt good to open the windows for the kitties to sit in, dust off my bike, wipe down the bistro table on the back deck, and prep the grill. Shaking out the rugs, along with a bit of spring cleaning
Not to mention, it was warm enough to walk outside. There aren't many things in life that make me happier than long afternoon walks through campus. It's fun to get to see everybody in shorts and springtime dresses after the winter thaw.
This weekend we'll stay close to home, and do more of the same. A few trips to the park with the puppies. A game or two of pool, and a glass of wine along with something tasty on the grill.

A smoothie recipe to share today
I've been making a variation of this smoothie for the past few months, although alter it from time to time. I like to use raw cacao instead of cocoa powder or syrup, and sometimes add things like almond butter or flax-seed.
I really like adding avocado, and the healthy fat and vitamin E it brings. Its taste isn't detectable and makes the smoothie incredibly smooth, thick, and creamy
Enjoy!
xoxo

It sounds like a very yummy smoothie, full of protein as well. My question is, how thick is it? I tried to add avocado in my smoothies but I found that they become very thick and oily. Maybe I’m doing something wrong.
